Associate of Arts in Psychology
The Associate of Arts in Psychology provides students with foundational tools to serve others in the fields of human or social services. Many students continue their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology or Counseling, and ultimately a Ph.D. in Psychology.
Program Objectives
- Explain, integrate, and apply foundational knowledge based in the field of Psychology.
- Exhibit expertise in critical thinking and scientific inquiry, while doing so in a Biblical context.
- Consistently demonstrate, yet continually nurture and refine individual ethical and social accountability in an increasingly diverse world.
- Demonstrate effective discipline related communications skills.
- Document and corroborate ongoing professional development accomplishments within the student’s field of study.
Completion Requirements
- A minimum 60 total semester hours of credit
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
- Professional Studies Requirements: 18 hours of credit
- General Studies Requirements: 30 hours of credit
- Bible & Theology Requirements: 12 hours of credit
- Marriage and Family: 3 hours of credit
Career and Ministry Opportunities for Psychology Graduates
Because the Associate of Arts degree also includes core academic courses in General Education, it lays the foundation for a bachelor’s degree or advancement in a variety of professional fields or ministry.
