Kansas Christian College has appointed Jaime Cuellar as their new Athletic Director. Cuellar came to Kansas Christian in Spring of 2021 when he was named the head men’s basketball coach. Cuellar will continue to serve in his role as head men’s basketball. He has worked in athletics at the high school, college, and professional level. Cuellar worked with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008-2013 then spent 2013-2014 with the Houston Rockets. Cuellar also served as an assistant women’s basketball coach, head men’s and women’s golf coach, and a full time faculty member at Southwestern Christian University. He served as the Athletic Director at Calvary Chapel Christian School in Las Vegas, Nevada as well.
Cuellar will take over day to day operations as the new leader in the athletic department. “I want to thank President Chad Pollard for giving me the opportunity to be the new Athletic Director at Kansas Christian College. It’s an exciting time for the college as we continue to expand our athletic department. We’ve made a tremendous amount of progress already, and I look forward to seeing where we can go from here.”
Vice President of Athletics, Dr. Jim Poteet, will remain in his role. Poteet will focus his attention on donor relationships, advancement, and future sport additions. Poteet spoke on the new look in the athletic department saying. “Jaime will be a great asset for us at the college in his new role of Athletic Director. This will also allow me to focus my efforts on the overall mission and vision for the future of the athletic department.”
