Kansas Christian College (KCC) is thrilled to introduce the FOCUS (Fostering Opportunities for College Success through Understanding and Support) Program, a pioneering initiative set to begin this spring. This program is designed to amplify student success through a tailored approach to support and resource allocation using a case management system.
Leandra Martin, Vice President of Student Affairs, expressed her enthusiasm about the new program, stating, “We’re excited to announce that starting this spring, we’ll be offering the new FOCUS Program to our students! This program is all about providing personalized support, with a focus on helping students get the resources they need to succeed.”
The FOCUS Program is built on a foundation of comprehensive assessment, meticulous planning, and steadfast advocacy to ensure every student at KCC has a clear and actionable plan for their academic journey and beyond. “By working with students to understand their unique needs, we can connect them with the right services and resources that will help them thrive,” Martin explained. The program aims to address various aspects of student needs, including academic assistance and personal development.
Reflecting KCC’s mission to develop informed, articulate, and service-oriented individuals who will contribute positively to their communities, the FOCUS Program aligns with the college’s vision to provide an education that integrates Christian faith and academic excellence. This initiative not only supports students in their immediate academic pursuits but also prepares them for meaningful and successful relationships, careers and lives.
“Through the FOCUS Program, students will get the support they need to make the most of their time here and set themselves up for long-term success,” added Martin. “We’re looking forward to seeing how this new initiative helps our students reach their full potential!”
The FOCUS Program is a testament to Kansas Christian College’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive educational environment that encourages the development of “servant leaders who know God, who have a passion for holiness of heart and who are inspired and prepared for a lifetime of learning and Kingdom service.”
