Kansas Christian College is delighted to announce the appointment of Leandra Martin as the new Vice President for Student Affairs. Leandra is no stranger to our campus community, having served in various roles within student services since her initial hire in 2016.
Leandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Pittsburg State University and is on track to complete a Master of Science in Psychology in February 2025 from Grand Canyon University. Most recently, she has served as the Director of Student Success and Financial Services, where she has developed a strong rapport with both colleagues and the students she has diligently served.
CFO David Carpenter, Leandra’s former supervisor, praised her saying, “Leandra is thoughtful and has a calm presence. She can take what comes, process it, and work through things to achieve positive outcomes, especially in student interactions. She follows through on what she says she will do.”
Leandra is eager to “hit the ground running” to ensure a successful start to the new school year and looks forward to welcoming students this Fall to Kansas Christian College. We are thrilled to have Leandra on the leadership team.
Leandra’s duties in her new role begin immediately as she replaces Jaime Cuellar, who resigned to take on a leadership role in K-12 education at Kansas City Christian School. Jaime’s athletic leadership responsibilities have been assumed by Dr. Jim Poteet, who will serve as the Vice President for Athletic Advancement, assisted by Tony Hurla.
