Memorial Gifts to KCC
Many times we wish to honor the life and memory of an alumnus or friend of KCC by investing in future KCC students who will continue to minister and spread God’s Word throughout the world. To make a one-time memorial gift to KCC, please contact our business office or submit your gift and indicate “In memory of [name]” on the check.
Scholarships
You also may choose to establish a KCC memorial scholarship as a tribute to a loved one or alumnus of KCC. By establishing a scholarship, you are making an incredible investment in the lives of students and enabling them to receive a life-changing education.
Scholarships of three varieties may be established:
- Memorial Scholarship – Standard memorial scholarships are created in memory of a deceased alumnus or friend of KCC, and all monies collected are awarded to one or more designated recipients. These scholarships are not renewed on a yearly basis, and the final award of monies collected concludes the scholarship.
- Endowed Scholarship – Endowed scholarship funds are designed to be perpetual. They can be created with gifts totaling a minimum of $10,000 that is either contributed in full at the time of establishment or amassed over time until the endowment level is attained. The principal of the fund is invested to produce income, and an annual award is made to one or more students. The principal remains untouched, so the endowment can last into perpetuity.
- Annual Scholarship – Annual scholarships can be established with an outright gift of a designated amount, and from this total an annual amount is awarded to recipients. Unlike an endowed scholarship, an annual scholarship is not a permanent fund and is awarded only as long as you (or others) choose to contribute to the fund.
Scholarship Criteria
In establishing a scholarship, a donor may also choose to create criteria for recipients of the scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to deserving students based upon area of interest, area of study or program, leadership potential, merit, financial need, academic achievement and/or other criteria. KCC must agree to any special award conditions established by the donor.
